Kai joined WiL in late 2024, where he focuses on investments across auto tech, manufacturing, supply chain, media, corporate venture capital funds, and corporate innovation.
Prior to WiL, Kai worked as an M&A advisory consultant at PwC, based in the New York and Los Angeles offices. At PwC, he led numerous small to mid-cap M&A transactions, private equity due diligence, value creation and post-merger integration initiatives. He also led commercial and operations excellence initiatives for major US, Japanese and European companies, primarily in the manufacturing, healthcare and financial services industries.
Kai holds a B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Tokyo and dual M.S. degrees in Engineering & Technology Innovation Management and Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. During graduate school, he published several academic papers in the fields of biomedical engineering and computational chemistry.
Outside of work, Kai is an avid runner and is currently on a mission to complete the World Marathon Majors.
